of the stake extender is to prevent damage to the frame feet by keeping the striking hammer away from the the frame.

The top is made of solid 6061 aluminum and it weighs just a bit over 4 pounds.
While over time, we expect the top driving surface to flatten somewhat, it would be no different than the steel punches we use day to day.
We designed this to be used with Hogan Double Headed Stakes.
